Cationic polyelectrolyte (DWP / Poly Electro grade) from Drashti Chemicals bridges the gap between primary coagulation and belt-press dewatering at textile, pharma, and food ETPs across Gujarat. These high-molecular-weight polymers carry positive charge that neutralises anionic colloids and bio-sludge, forming macro-flocs that settle in 15 minutes and press to 18–22% cake solids. Without polyelectrolyte, your DAF or clarifier may hit design load while effluent TSS still fails consent.

Charge density and molecular weight define grade selection. Low-charge, high-MW cationic suits sludge conditioning before centrifuge; medium-charge cationic covers mixed industrial effluent after PAC or ferric dose; high-charge cationic targets anionic dye molecules in reactive-dye wastewater. Make-down concentration is the critical operating variable: 0.1–0.5% stock solution prepared in RO or soft water with 45–60 minutes maturation at slow stir (40 rpm). Never use hard water above 200 ppm CaCO₃ — calcium bridges polymer chains and kills floc strength. Dose 1–10 mg/L active polymer after coagulant flash mix. Overdosing re-stabilises colloids and raises TSS — if effluent clarity worsens after increasing dose, you are past the optimum.

Cationic vs. anionic polyelectrolyte: cationic after inorganic coagulant for positive-neutral-negative floc cascade; anionic for oily emulsion breaking and deoiling (see our Deoil Poly grade). Cationic vs. non-ionic: non-ionic only for acid-leach or extreme pH where ionic charge is shielded.
