Peroxide vs. sodium hypochlorite for bleaching: peroxide suits heat-stable cellulosics and avoids AOX in effluent; hypochlorite is cheaper for cotton at ambient temperature. Peroxide vs. potassium permanganate: permanganate adds manganese sludge; peroxide is cleaner but needs higher temperature or catalyst. For ETP colour, peroxide alone is weak on reactive dyes — pair with UV or iron catalyst.
