Commercial 30–33% vs tighter purity expectations
Most Gujarat metal finishing and ETP buyers run commercial 30–33% with iron and free-chlorine limits per their incoming spec. Reagent-grade bottles are the wrong economics for a pickling tank.
If you are near food, pharma utility or export packaging, call out max iron, heavy metals and any customer audit clause on the RFQ. We quote the grade that matches — not “best available” without a spec.
Packing: HDPE drums, carboys and tankers
Standard inward packing is 35 kg / 50 kg HDPE drums with sealed bungs. Check bung torque and drum age on receipt — HCl fumes attack poor seals and corrode nearby inventory in a shared store.
Tanker loads suit continuous pickling or large ETP acid dosing with bunded storage. Share tank material (FRP/HDPE/rubber-lined) and vent routing before first tanker — HCl vapour needs respect.
COA fields that matter on incoming QC
Confirm: product name, CAS 7647-01-0, batch/lot, assay % HCl, specific gravity band, iron and any heavy-metal lines your QA sheet lists. Match batch on COA to drum embossing or label.

Storage, fumes and PPE
Store upright, cool, ventilated, away from metals and oxidisers. Secondary containment is non-negotiable for drum bays. Operators need acid-resistant gloves, face shield and eyewash access — HCl fumes track low along floor drains.
Never mix with hypochlorite or unknown cleaners in the same drain without a written procedure — chlorine gas risk is real on plant floors.
