Hydrochloric Acid 30–33% Commercial Grade — Vadodara

Hydrochloric acid (HCl, 30–35% w/w) from Drashti Chemicals covers pH adjustment, steel pickling, ion-exchange regeneration, and chemical synthesis at plants across Gujarat. Technical grade suffices for ETP acidification and regeneration; higher purity available for food-adjacent and pharma intermediate use. COA confirms assay, iron, and free chlorine — iron matters when HCl contacts stainless equipment.

30% vs. 35% concentration: 35% reduces freight per kg HCl but fumes more aggressively and requires better ventilation. Dilute to 10–15% for safer manual handling in small plants without closed dosing. Never add water to acid — always acid to water with cooling. Storage in HDPE or rubber-lined steel with fume scrubber on vent. Secondary containment mandatory under Gujarat PCB norms.

ETP pH correction: dose to pH 2–3 for chromium reduction step; dose to pH 6–7 after lime precipitation. Ion-exchange regeneration: 4–8% HCl at 2–4 bed volumes. Pickling: 15–25% at 25–40 °C with inhibitor to protect base metal. Dose rate depends entirely on alkalinity load — titrate rather than guess. Drashti provides assay-verified strength; weak acid from sun-degraded drums is a common field problem we prevent with fresh stock.

HCl vs. sulphuric acid for pH drop: HCl adds chloride without calcium sludge; sulphuric adds sulfate load but is less fuming. HCl vs. citric acid: citric is weak organic acid for CIP and food lines; HCl is strong mineral acid for industrial scale. For boiler condensate neutralisation, organic acids preferred — HCl is wrong choice due to chloride corrosion.
