An ETP does not fail on one chemical — it fails when coagulant, flocculant, pH correction and biological support are misaligned or undocumented. Use this checklist before your next bulk RFQ.
Primary Treatment Chemicals
Coagulant: PAC, alum or ferric chloride — specify grade and form. Flocculant: anionic or cationic polyelectrolyte matched to your sludge dewatering equipment. pH adjustment: caustic soda or lime for acidic streams; acid for alkaline wash water. Confirm COA parameters your consent auditor checks.
Biological Stage Support
Nutrients (urea/DAP if deficient), defoamer for aeration foam, bacterial culture after shutdown or toxic shock. Do not buy culture without dosing plan — MLSS and F:M ratio drive success more than brand name.
